Programs by age

What does daycare at Lincoln-Martí include at each age?

Lincoln-Martí daycare groups children by age, so every classroom is built around one developmental stage: infants, young toddlers, older toddlers, preschoolers, and 4-year-olds in VPK. Florida law sets a minimum staff-to-child ratio for each age, and it tightens as children get younger — one adult for every four infants, compared with one for every 15 three-year-olds. Our classrooms meet or exceed those standards.

  1. 6 – 12 months

    Infants

    FL minimum 1 : 4

Consistent caregivers, feeding and nap routines set with you, and first words in two languages.

  2. 1 year

    Young toddlers

    FL minimum 1 : 6

Walking, climbing, songs, and picture books, with routines that build independence.

  3. 2 years

    Older toddlers

    FL minimum 1 : 11

Growing vocabulary in English and Spanish, sharing, and self-help skills like handwashing.

  4. 3 years

    Preschool

    FL minimum 1 : 15

Letters, numbers, shapes, and social skills through guided play.

  5. 4 years

    VPK / Pre-K

    VPK max 11 per teacher

Florida’s free VPK program plus kindergarten readiness.

Ratios are Florida’s legal minimums under s. 402.305, Florida Statutes. VPK classes are capped at 11 children with one teacher, or 20 with a teacher and an assistant (Florida Department of Education).

Why families choose us

Why choose a bilingual daycare in Miami?

In Miami-Dade County, 75.3% of residents age 5 and older speak a language other than English at home, according to U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts (2020–2024). At Lincoln-Martí, English and Spanish are part of the ordinary routine — greetings, stories, songs, mealtimes, and play — rather than a separate class, so children build vocabulary in both languages during the years they learn to talk. Bilingual education continues at our K–12 and charter campuses, all the way to high school.
